Searching for just the right knife?
January 04, 2005

If it's a fixed blade, make it yourself!

Here's a simple, friendly how-to: hossom.com/tutorial/jonesy/

And another: www.primitiveways.com/pt-knives-1.html.

Don't forget a sheath, it's as important as the knife...

Love the OYB site! A good way to start is by mounting a factory blade in a handle of your own design, then making a sheath. If you like Scandinavian designs, one good source for mail-order blades (& a lot of design ideas) is Ragweed Forge at http://www.ragweedforge.com

No commercial interest, just( a satified customer)

Best,

Andrew
